Frugal Repurpose!

Ok, so a few years ago, a family member gave us a metal Futon bed.  They didn't have the 'bed cushion' to go with it though, and we never found a place for the bed anywhere in our tiny home. So, it lived in our garage.  We looked into buying a cushion for it, but they were expensive!!!  So, we now have TWO gate doors for our Chicken fence. :) Hubby hung the second section yesterday and it looks great!  We'll cover these w/ chicken wire so the young birds can't escape their LARGE fenced area.  Getting the 30 hens next week! Very exciting!

Pie in a Jar - oh yes

Ok...so this is a YUMMY post. Sorry...no, I did NOT partake of the yummy goodness of the pie. sigh. However! Mr. Eye Candy DID...and I got a thumbs UP on this one!!!  Here is what I made!

Cherry Pie in a Jar. Mason jars. I used Pint jars, but you can use smaller JAM jars which is what I'm gonna use next time. I wanted to try this out though, and didn't have JAM jars. :) OK....this was awesome!!! EASY too!

I cheated and used store bought pie crust (but will make my own in future). Place into jars, just tear them apart and stick them in there!  I then added the PIE filling...cherry NO FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP kind. You use your lid to 'cut out' the shape for the top.  I just free handed the heart cut out with a little knife.
BAKE at 375 for 40 min. or so...as it starts to turn brown on top...there ya go. Done.  I will add LESS yummy goodness pie filling next time though so it won't spill over.!!!

this is step one. :)
Bake.

TASTE tester is next......
and.....
THUMBS UP!!!!
I did good. :)
